SeisGram2K is an easy-to-use, platform-independent, Java software package for interactive visualization and analysis of earthquake seismograms. SeisGram2K runs and reads data files locally and over the Internet.
Features of the viewer include:
- direct reading of trace data files over the Internet
- direct, interactive reading of trace data from a Buffer of Uniform Data (BUD) directory
- Internal browser for opening trace data files on a web server
- reading data in SAC binary and ascii, GSE21, mini-SEED, SEED (preliminary), strong-motion and other formats:
- (SAC_BINARY, SAC_ALPHA, SG2K_ASCII, FULL_SEED, MINI_SEED, MINI_SEED_BUD, GSE21, WAV, QCNLIVE_CSV, USGS_SMC, NIED_KNET, CDMG_CSMIP, PEPP, TITAN, FVGN, DEPREM_ASCII, SEESLO, DART)
- interactive zooming, scaling, rotation and transformation of the seismograms
- time and amplitude picking
- time-domain mean-removal, integration and differentiation
- frequency domain filtering and processing
- spectral display
- interactive spectrogram display
- interactive, travel-time display with trace overlay
- helicorder display
- multi-component analysis tools (Polarisation analysis, vector operations, ...)
- animated, 3D particle motion visualization
- command-line access to processing functions
- multiple languages
- integrated help menus
- a "school" mode which displays a sub-set of program options
- reading gzip compressed data files, and "little" and "big-endian" binary byte ordering
- sending picks to a remote process or URL (cgi-bin, Java servlet, ...)
- frequency domain transfer function removal/addition
- SeisGram2K can be launched directly from the SeisGram2KXX.jar archive file.
- SeedLink support and SeedLink Monitor mode (see MEREDIAN Java SeedLink development)
- Header information editor
